ALIZE LAUNCH REVIEW!!

With temperatures dropping to sub-zero yesterday, the only thing that would have stop me from drawing for the hot water bottle and horlicks would have to be something major. With that in mind I reluctantly departed from my warm house to make my way to the ‘CC Club’ for the Alize Rose launch party hoping that I wouldn’t have firmed the freezing cold in vain.

On arrival, it seemed Alize pulled out all the stops for this event and I suspect blew the budget on the two huge sculture-like, ice blocks of Alize that each contained two bottles of Alize Rose frozen in it. Because of this ‘piece de resistance’ which I have on good authority by the friendly bar staff would take 8 hours to melt, Alize had to resort to using market style American flags blu- tacked to the walls as decorations.

The lovely girls from Alize did their job in keeping our glasses filled up with many-a-alize cocktails and Boywonder Ent recommends the sweet rose as a firm favourite. This, combined with the music provided by Choice fm meant it wasn’t long before the mix of the two produced a full dancefloor. Kat kept the audience entertained and Masterstepz was back on form after his brief spell in Jamaica and proved that ‘news of the world’ scandal or not; he could still deliver tune after tune.

Chilling up in the very large VIP was some of the uk's freshest urban talent from rapper/producer JD, TV presenter Reggie Yates, Naila Boss, So Solid and Estelle. Estelle is one of the most humble and truly grounded artist that we have come across and though we’ve heard rumours of her label woes we hope that she’ll be dropping her new album soon and wish her the very best.

Kat off course proved to be a fine host on the night and introduced 31 year old, Jon B. The shockingly emaciated singer’s appearance was a markedly different one from his dapper “cool relax” days and he instead resembled Tim Westwood and sounded like Whitney on crack. Ok, maybe that was a bit harsh especially since he’s such a nice guy but he raised a lot of eyebrows with his performance. Anyway… the sickly looking singer actually managed to perform quite a few tracks with ‘Don’t talk’, ‘They Don’t Know’ as well as ‘Lately’ and ‘Everytime’ from his most recent album generating the most crowd response. The male version of Nicole Richie at one point even jumped of the stage into the audience to much the surprise of everyone (particularly the security) and began serenading the ladies and soon picked up his performance.

Well I’m sure that theres more I could say but those freeness Alize rose cocktails took its toll so enjoy these pics curtesy of my nokia N70…..
